Accelerating Digital Transformation for Restaurants During COVID-19: Akash Gill’s Innovative Approach to Online Ordering

The COVID-19 pandemic challenged countless businesses to rethink and reshape their operations, and few industries were impacted more than the restaurant sector. Lockdowns and restrictions left many restaurants struggling to reach customers and maintain revenue. As someone deeply involved in digital transformation, I saw an opportunity to help restaurants pivot to online ordering rapidly and affordably. I developed a template-based solution to launch hundreds of digital ordering websites, enabling restaurants to operate in a safer, more accessible way and reach customers directly online.

For many small to medium-sized restaurants, the shift to digital was daunting. Developing a custom online ordering system from scratch was time-consuming and costly—two factors that most businesses couldn’t afford during the pandemic. Recognizing this, I created a template-based website solution that allowed us to build online ordering platforms quickly and efficiently.
