Renowned industrialist Anand Mahindra has stepped forward to assist Jaspreet, a 10-year-old boy from Delhi, who found himself thrust into the responsibility of managing his late father’s street-side food stall. Jaspreet’s father succumbed to brain tuberculosis, leaving him to shoulder the family’s financial burden.
The touching gesture from Mahindra came after a viral video captured Jaspreet’s poignant story, showcasing his determination and courage in the face of adversity. Shared by food vlogger Sarabjeet Singh, also known as mrsinghfoodhunter, the video depicts Jaspreet skillfully preparing chicken egg rolls at the stall, displaying a resilience that belies his tender age.
Moved by Jaspreet’s story, Anand Mahindra took to social media to express his admiration and offer support. He wrote, “Courage, thy name is Jaspreet. But his education shouldn’t suffer. I believe he’s in Tilak Nagar, Delhi. If anyone has access to his contact number, please do share it.” Mahindra further stated that the Mahindra Foundation would explore avenues to support Jaspreet’s education, recognizing the importance of ensuring a bright future for the young boy.
Despite facing adversity, Jaspreet continues to run the stall with unwavering determination. He credits his culinary skills to his late father, offering a variety of rolls, including chicken and kabab rolls, paneer rolls, and chowmein rolls.
