The Indian government is planning to introduce stricter norms/rules against E-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart. They are planning to cease flash sales and offers of goods and services on these websites.
The reason being, many complaints, and allegations have been filed to the government against E-commerce websites from consumers, traders against widespread malpractices like unfair trade practices. These complaints and allegations have driven the Ministry of consumer affairs to ban Flash sales and other kinds of discount sales.
Some allegations have also stated that these sales were conducted to promote few sellers on the E-commerce website over other sellers which is creating an imbalance and making many underrated sellers withdraw their profile on these websites. To prevent such imbalance and to have equal priority among all the sellers, such decisions are being taken.
